Asheville Awesomeness II

After a lovely Thanksgiving with family and friends, it was off to Asheville, NC for a long, relaxing weekend.

We made sure our stay at "Slow Living Cottage" lived up to it's name! We soaked in the hot tub and bathed in the glow of the moon. The stars were incredible! We ate like kings. We read like bookworms.

Who knew chickens could be so friendly?

On a walk down the road we discovered a potter's studio. The door was open though no one was home, and we spent the next hour exploring and buying some great pieces of art, on the honor system!

The trip to Max Patch was nearly as breathtaking as the hike itself - along the French Broad River, through my favorite new tiny town, Marshall, through the uber-cute Hot Springs, and up & up a curvy mtn road. Max Patch is a bald mountain with 360-views of the Smokey Mtns. We spotted a few AT Thru Hikers, and ate a delicious picnic.

I could shop til I drop in Asheville! We made sure to hit all the highlights - Tupelo Honey Cafe, Malaprops Bookstore, the Loft, Woolworth Walk, etc.
